As markers suggest a more generous private capital environment for 2024, Allvue wanted to know how private capital managers themselves see it. During November and December 2023, we surveyed 114 private capital managers globally about their outlook on tech adoption and their expectations for 2024’s investment environment. Our respondents fall across the spectrum of AUM size, geography, and private capital investment strategy.
Some of our top findings:
- Nearly a quarter of private capital managers have already adopted AI and machine learning into their fund operations.
- 48% of managers expect 2024’s dealmaking environment to be better than 2023’s.
- Private capital managers’ top three most common applications of AI include data collection (63%), portfolio monitoring (59%), and dealmaking (59%).
Overall, our data paints the picture of tempered optimism for the year ahead, as well as trust in emerging technology and the effects it can have on the private capital sector – not just as an investment target, but as a tool to optimize fund operations.
